You say change comes from within

Camilla Canocchi

What are you doing to become a better YOU? I bet YOU’re not doing enough. Join me a to discover the challenges, pleasures and absurdities of trying to respond to a myriad of different approaches to self-improvement. Expect improbable yoga poses, Italian style Campari-drinking, poetic crumbs and talking birds. I will give you bread – and a chance to get it all out…

Camilla: I’m a Italian performance maker and writer based in London with a background in journalism and an MA in Theatre and Performance from Queen Mary University London. My performance work is playful and poetic, and explores the contemporary condition through a mix of cabaret-style comedy, task-based actions, absurdism and audience participation. I’m interested in the subtle ways in which neoliberalism infiltrates our emotional and relational spheres and how performance can bring that to the surface. I like to involve the audience to discover how we navigate vulnerability and unlock new ideas about the behaviour of society. Aside my own performance work, I regularly collaborate with other artists.

You say change comes from within was part of PUG#4 at Tyneside Irish Centre 1st December 2017.
